If you're a last minute shopper like me...well, if you're like me, it's still way too early to be thinking about Christmas presents! But if you're like a lot of people, it's getting to be crunch time! I thought I'd offer a special that will let people get in some last minute portraits while avoiding the single-pose packages offered by big chains. It's also just enough time to have holiday cards made and sent out!
This is available for one week only with a limited number of spaces available each day. As usual, sessions can be booked at a location of your choice! Please contact me if you have any questions!

I have to say, there is just something SO WONDERFUL about working with newborns. They are so new and perfect.
Mr. B was not the happiest camper today, but he did eventually warm to the whole idea of letting mom put him down, though the hats were simply out of the question! He is just so adorable! So young and already has quite the little personality. It was a great afternoon hanging out with him and his mom.

Last weekend I met with Carla to do a shoot featuring her lovely family and her lovely skirts! It was a great day for it and the kids were wonderful!
Let me first talk about these skirts...they are AMAZING. Far better than I expected, as I was expecting the normal coarse fabric you usually think of when you see these, but they are so soft and poofy and wonderful! I was lucky enough to come home with some to use as photography props and can't wait to use them!
You can find out more about Carla's skirts at her blog: http://carlitamamacita.blogspot.com/

I will be running this newborn special through the end of the year! I'm really looking forward to working with little babies and about getting back to designing birth announcements! My interest in graphic design took a backseat to photography and I'm excited to delve into it again now!

I met The R Family in some surprisingly chilly weather for a walk by the lake. They were such a joy to work with and Mr. Noah was adorable!

This was such a fun family to work with! Little Miss Josie was completely fascinated by everything below her, so her mom and dad had to work extra hard at being goofy to get her to look up at us!

For the month of October I'm going running a special for family portraits!
Fall is such a great time for family photos, and perfect timing to get holiday photos for greetings cards and gifts for family members! I hope I can really take advantage of how beautiful Minnesota is in autumn!

I've been going back and forth on this for a while, and finally decided that as much as I love the name Down The Lane Photography, it fails to really represent what I want myself and my business to be. For starters, I don't want to be seen as a faceless business, I want people to know just what they get when they decide to work with me. This is not some grand operation with lots of people behind the scenes, it's just little ol' me, doing what I love!
The thing that has held me back until now is that I never want to give my clients the impression that I am wishy-washy about my business. I finally realized that I'm very new to this and have just reached the point where I am sure enough of what I want to create here, and comfortable enough in that certainty to take a chance. I am my photography, not a cute name.
The blog is the first step, this weekend I will begin working on a new website and I'm really excited to get going on such a big project. October is looking to be a really exciting month, and I can't wait to work with all the new clients who have booked sessions so far!
I leave you with a few shots of two of my three little men. I love fall!
